Ummm. . . did you read the report? They didn't exactly "own up" to it. Rather, they presented several reasons (fatigue, sun was behind the signal head, et al) for their failure to operate their train in accordance with signal indication.

According to his attorney's statment, he saw a green. Doesn't seem likely, but that's his story, and he's sticking to it. Some folks who post here and on Trainorders do the same thing.
