C&TS - how can friendly?

Are the guys who work and run that place pretty cool? I don’t want to go all the way down there if I get scowls from the crews for inspecting a loco or asking questions. Do they prefer the non-railfan general public crowd over railfans? Is the Mount Rainier See-Nick owned by the same group?
