About 35 years ago, I had the opportunity to visit NZ, The reason for the trip wasn't to ride trains, but I had the opportunity to ride several. -- About the psychology of this video: The message is, if I, while driving the train, hit you, and kill or cripple you, it will be terrible for me. Not so much that it will be dreadful for you, or for your friends and relations, but for me, and you did this to me because you failed to do the right thing (that is, pay attention). This is an appeal to be cooperative -- to prevent damage to me, your mate. The intended audience of the video is "Kiwis," and they have more of an attitude of cooperation with your mates/fellow humans/etc. than we tend to see in the US. If all my friends weren't here, I'd be tempted to move to NZ. -- Small footnote on language: I don't know whether their term is "engineman" or "train driver" or whatever.
