Quick translation. The key information is in the 3rd paragraph in bold.

[Reporter] The front of the engine is crushed and the train is off the tracks. The cause of this accident is a landslide on the side of the tracks which derailed the first five cars of the train. At a bit before 8 this morning the TGV [high speed train] which connects Strasbourg and Paris struck several tons of earth fallen from the embankment. Striking at 270 kph, damage was inevitable. A passenger filmed the scene from within the train. The collision has just happened and the train continues to move for several more seconds before coming to a stop. Rocks striking the windows cause serious damage. Here is the passenger who took the film:

[Passenger] “We felt a jolt, a pretty good jolt. You could feel that the train was going onto the gravel. It started to lean over. The stop lasted a while. The train had been going at full speed, so it took some time. In the end, we were afraid that it was going to collapse completely onto the tracks.”

[Reporter] 22 people were injured, including the conductor. He was hospitalized in grave condition and his prognosis is not yet known. The toll could have been heavier if the train had fallen over. What prevented that from happening were the bogies. They carry the axles and tie the cars to each other. [Train expert] That provides great stability to the train. If the train should derail, for example because of a landslide, the train remains whole and has less of a tendency to collapse.

[Reporter] Tonight the majority of the passengers were able to reach Paris or Strasbourg. The SNCF [French train enterprise] which has opened an internal inquiry has confirmed that the conductor had the time to engage the emergency brake system. The Prosecutor's Office in Strasbourg has likewise opened an inquiry into the associated injuries.
