The pictured loader was a Weed/Long Bell lumber machine, they sent it to McCloud to load logs Long Bell bought from the Hearst Estate properties southeast of town. It sat in McCloud for years after that job ended, Long Bell eventually donated it to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth, which was back in the day home to Clyde Iron Wofks sho built the McGiffert loader. It’s been cosmetically restored and is on display there.
