Re: Winterail Corona Virus-We really only know the effects, not so much yet, the "cause"...

We don't really know much. And, I suspect the experts still don't know much, as yet, about how exactly this spreads.
What has been evident, and gets notice, is that it spreads pretty easily, and even to health care workers with higher degree's of protection. In China, they've needed to test hundreds of thousands of people, and impose huge restrictions and quarantined tens of thousands of folks, in order to begin to get this under control. Asymptomatic carriers, or those with symptoms so minor (cold sore, sniffles, an extra cough, other than from that hit of strong indica….) may be a part of the problem, too. Of course, if you are very symptomatic, DO NOT DO WHAT THE PRESIDENT TOLD YOU TO DO, AND DO NOT GO TO WORK OR SCHOOL, ANYHOW!
Because we haven't seriously been able to test nearly enough potentially exposed people, to get a statistically accurate sampling of exposure risks, I'm not sure that even the "experts" have any handle on it yet, either....
So, until we can get more than 40 test kits, for the other 3,000 or so passengers and crew on that cruise ship tested, we don't really know how many folks actually might have it, do we....? It's that stupid MATH and science thing at work, again....
Then, the guys and gals who do this math, will probably be able to let us know the risks better, when they can get the necessary data... And, then we'll know how better to deal with this.
As a transportation economist, what I can say, from my experience with such "data" and "MATH", is that logistics numbers were weak already, the market was overvalued (by definition, since it did "fall"), that the effects of the shut down of travel and commerce are already being observed, and that shocks of this magnitude do ripple through the "real" economy, not just Wall Street...
There were a lot of nervous store clerks at Trader Joe's looking at those empty aisles, too. And, the tip jar at the restaurant was real empty, from no customers....
I don't know about attendance at Winterail (or maybe, the potentially positive side effects on Winterrail, from improved personal hygiene???), but this "over sixty" "quarantine" is a definite "sell" indication for your Olive Garden stock....
