Santa Cruz Branch Rail Line Update

Lots of rail related work scheduled for the Santa Cruz Branch Rail Line this year. The track between the Boardwalk and Capitola has already been upgraded to FRA Class 1 for the light rail demonstration later this year. Along with the storm damage repairs at Harkins Slough and Gallighan Slough other bridges will be repaired too. The line between Watsonville and Santa Cruz should be reopened by this time next year and SCBT&P’s CF7’s will be the first freight brought up to Santa Cruz.
