What freight revenue traffic is expected to traverse the line between Santa Cruz and Watsonville? I don't understand the justification in spending money to open a line with no potential freight traffic. By the time they repair the washout near Harkins Slough, more damage will have been done. All of the grade crossings need repair or replacement. The wooden trestles in Aptos and Capitola were swaying and falling apart twenty years ago. I'll never forget walking under one of those trestles in 2004 after shooting the Cruz and being hit in the shoulder by a chunk of falling wood.
