But some big differences between 1918 and today. Then the kids and the old people mostly were spared with the strong, healthy people getting hurt the worst. Apparently the old people who went back to 1857 had some immunity from a flu strain going around in that year.

Today we have the medical means to deal with the secondary illnesses that the Spanish flu enabled. SARS 2-covid19 directly attacks vital organs. I question whether vaccines will help much the old people since we have little antibodies anyway.

Be interesting to see if the stuff they use against HIV and hep will work on this virus.
