Ken....North bound freights which exceeded AC and 2-10-2 tonnage from Lakehead to Dunsmuir, picked up a helper to Dunsmuir which could be almost anything Dunsmuir had on hand...There were 2-8-0's and 2-10-2's at Redding and sometimes when these engines had a long wait for a Roseville turn, they would sometimes help Northbounds to dunsmuir and return to Redding.....
