Woodchip traffic out of Lakeview ended a year or so ago, though I've heard tell it might come back. In addition to cottonseed I've also seen them used for gypsum loads, there's one such reload right behind the big cement plant in Fernley, Nevada.
Lastly when I was a kid a co-gen plant in Burney got inbound loads of hog fuel, they would unload the cars in the exact same way you indicate, popping the end of the cars and using a loader to scoop the fuel out and into waiting trucks.
