AMT #14, Sunday, thru the Cascades

Parked at Cascade Summit due to a reported drawbar failure somewhere in the many-tunnels country above the Cascade Loops. Was not listening to radio. Replacement road power (four units) came from K Falls. Returned with maximum tonnage. Followed by maximum length empty car carriers. Interesting contrast. Well into the evening, we headed for Eugene. Litter had been trucked away.

The trip to King Street was unique, to say the least. Maximum acceleration, exactly allowed track speeds, maximum deceleration, station stops measure in seconds, no smoking. Arrival somewhere after midnight. Uniformed help went to the Holiday Inn, Seattle Center, for rapid showers and rapid sleep for this morning's departure at 9:45 for home in LA.

Quite a trip.
