Argentine ants wiped out those giant red ants (which bit you) and them hornytoad lizards that fed on them, in much of Sou Cal. In my misspent youth, there used to be what seemed like hundreds of hornytoads in the drainage ditch along the ATSF 2nd District through Arcadia, before the 210 wiped all of that out... Even had one of them ant farms with the big red ones. The little buggers are hell on driveways, too... Time to kill the nests with termite killer, and mortar mix the cracks, now that rainy season is over, with all of this extra time on my hands...
Yeah, you're right, probably not a basement, more likely a broken down RV, parked somewhere near the library, for the free wifi… Just as long as they're busy trolling me and social distancing...that's all I want from him...
