Back in The Day -- in the 1970's & early 1980's, my dad's tool & die shop did business with the only plastic injection molding shop in the Hawaiian Islands. Flower Pots & blow - molded soda bottles, sunglass frames, stuff like that. The owner ran his whole business, 300 ton molding presses & all, off a BIG Diesel generator. It was cheaper to import Diesel # 2 from the mainland than to pay local power rates.
Up here in the Great Grey Northwest, gas prices in Metro Puget Sound are in the $2.39 - $2.50 per gallon range, with some AM / PM " Gas " ( with lotsa ethanol !!! ) right at Two Bucks a gallon.
