The line is currently out of service. The good news is that there is a potential shipper that could get things going again. The sticking point is the amount of $$ that it would take to get the ex-MILW fixed up enough between Othello and the old junction. Existing former shippers at Royal Slope have reportedly been contacted and they would be interested in shipping by rail again if that option was (re)opened. My gut tells me that the Columbia Basin RR is not going to put the bucks out to fix up what the BNSF could potentially rebuild. The BNSF actually has the final say on anything that the CBRW does to its remaining ex-MILW mainline trackage.
