The BNSF owns the option on the corridor. The option was scheduled to expire a couple of years ago but was renewed. If you include the word "condidering" in the second question, the answer is, absolutely. Even they don't know if they ever will re-build it at this point. Two things have to happen first:
1. Stampede Tunnel has to get taller. (That is being funded--at least that's the plan)
2. Anticipated growth in intermodal has to take place.
Then.............?
I do know that they are studying their options in the Ellensburg area. I also know for a fact that suddnely, the CBRW is acting very sketchy about anything that affects the part of the ex-MILW main that they use. They are now acting like they are babysitters instead of controlling operators.
