Portland, OR area rail trails & other RR items

We'll be staying in Portland for a few days and would like to hike any interesting rail trails in the area. Are there any trails leftover from the old OE line over the hill west of Portland?

Also interested in other rail activities such as the large model railroad in NE Portland that I visited almost 30 years ago.

Not overly intersted in railfanning since I get my fill of that on the job. I understand the 700 or the 4449 will be operating but we may just miss that by a day.
