I see Mr. Schonbrunn has been paying attention. He knows what is going on.
I am sure SMART would love an excuse to kill freight. Now they have the ability. This is the "watershed moment" the SMART board member is talking about in the article.
As a shortline fan, this development is really disappointing. I gather NWP has a lot of dedicated people (and possibly volunteers) that make it turn a profit. There's no way SMART can do the same and be profitable with all its expensive overhead.
