From the Central Valley and East Bay where they live to failbook and back. Go commute on the Dumbarton bridge sometime. It's a nightmare with no alternative routes.

SR 84 is the only direct way to failbook for people who don't live on the Peninsula or San Jose. Three lanes and a toll both.

Build a second SR 84 Dumbarton Bridge or build a new Dumbarton Rail Bridge.
Forcibly limit the population of the Bay Area or force failbook to make all of its employees work from home, because why couldn't they? What other choices are there? In fact if every person who works in an office worked from home, we would already have a surplus of freeway capacity. That seems like the most cost effective solution.

Telling people "NO" is extremely cheap.

Elon's not wrong though is he? And the capitulation by and embarrassment of county officials in Alameda kinda proves he was right, doesn't it? And he's showing how a vertically integrated company (SpaceX) can still be an innovator and industry leader. In ten years all of our internet will be provided by Starlink and spaceflight will be commercially available.

It behooves our society to let Elon Musk do whatever he wants to advance us while he's still here. We only get one Nikola Tesla per century and we didn't appreciate the last one.
