Thanks for the actual news, Shorty! Thread starter seems like either a Mouse of Many Names or a pseudonym for the trail-only group leader who shall not be named.

Long-term, the Santa Cruz line is facing some real problems with sea level rise. Very long term, the Boardwalk area may be flooded more often. Not so long term, the parts of the line on the sea cliffs, like near La Selva, will have to deal with accelerated cliff erosion, much like Del Mar. So in the long term Santa Cruz may need to plan for a new alignment in spots. In a 100-year timeframe, something qualitatively different may be needed.
