That would make sense to me, but these switches were on the throat so everything that went through Sixth and Main would have gone over them. The PE's interurban cars were relatively light, but not that light. (The "blimps" that ran at the end were ex IER and NWP cars that, when built, were the lightest rail car per passenger.)
