He's always put the hype in hyperloop for me...

There is nothing to see here. It is essentially what was done in a Ft. Worth shopping center over 50 years ago with the Tandy Subway.... Compared to the four mile, 53 foot diameter, double bored tunnels proposed to complete the missing I-710 gap, under cutesy wootsy South Pasadena, and that have been done in places like Madrid, there is nothing to see here in terms of boring technology, except that these are tiny tunnels... As to rubber tired vehicles, well, nothing to see here either, how long ago did they do this in Paris?

The hyperloop (maglev in a tiny tunnel, sometimes with sleds that will magically be loaded with Tesla's, which will miraculously arrive just when you reach the station....?) hasn't been heard from for a while, and now we have a really fast "shuttle van" in a tunnel full of people (you mean like rubber tired airport people movers all over the world for 60 years?).... It is, from on operating system standpoint, just another option for of people mover in a small bore tunnel underground, which does nothing that magical, cheaper, faster, or better? The fact that this is now one of Elon's "new" visionary ideas which he has managed to sell to a fairly gullible press and elected officials is not new either...

As a taxpayer, why not just develop a specification for the distribution system you need to access your parking and the Metrolink Station, and see who comes up with the most cost effective system design, with the most cost effective operating cost, and put it our for a "turnkey" bid.... And, then, Elon can compete with other who do this well, on his proposed systems merits, not just his hype...?
