Saw another story recently about "Harriet" the boring machine on the Crenshaw Line job finishing its work and being retired. What "retired" means was not explained - will it be removed from the subway or will it just be driven into a pocket at the end of the tunnel and left there? If Elon has actual, real improvements to the tunnel boring process (any patents to show for it?), he should grab "Harriet" and rebuild it to his specs. Then he could bid on actual, real, useful transit and road tunnel jobs against the people who have been doing it all these years. A little actual competition is always helpful. Hype is ... Hype.
