Okay...here goes! The Oregon Pacific "acquired" a shop cat that we named "FOAMER". She was a motley orange-brown creature that showed up one day limping so one of the crew bandaged her "injured" leg with a popsicle stick to resemble a splint and went to the convenience store to get her some nourishment.

The splint didn't seem to help so we took her to a nearby vet about a block away who after examining her and taking an x-ray found nothing amiss other than she was a feline attention whore! Once we were on to her we had to get some mouse control services to pay for the vet bill and food we continued to supply. She was very good friends with the cook at the County Work Release Center across the street where she helped dispose of extra goodies. Her favorite place to bask in the sun was the spacious rear deck of Portland Traction SW-1 #100.

One day one of the guards came across the street and informed us that FOAMER had passed away on their porch. We were devastated to say the least. FOAMER's remains were wrapped in a nice warm OPR jacket and transported on the back deck of the 100 where she was put to rest in the work release garden alongside our spur serving Americold Logistics. We can look down on her from the cab of the 100 and pay our respects with a toot from the Leslie 5-chime. Rest in peace FOAMER a faithful worker and friend for over ten years!
