Reasons given in 2012 for expanding the yard:
"...improve asset utilization and efficiency, enhance customer service, strengthen our entire 22-state system, and further confirm Ohio’s importance to freight-rail transportation.”

Reasons given in 2020 for diminishing the yard:
"This alteration will allow for greater efficiencies and customer service that achieves the goals set forth in the company’s strategic plan.”
