I remember the "Master" & "Mate". (tube type stuff) Then things started going crazy. They came out with units that you could idle from the head end. I liked that. You could work it into slack control.

Then, here comes some "NEW STUFF". With this you could control power/ DB to 3 different
locations. That is all great and fine IF you don't lose the other radios signal.
I know they have fine tuned some, but???

The first ones were 8400 and their slaves ? and then the 7200s and their slaves.

I loved watching the Wendle train, set out their train, switch in cars with just an engineer.

And then again, I saw those same engines sideswipe a cut of 15 cars.

They tried to get some remotes in the Siskiyou. We would leave Ashland (Medford) with the engines cut in as instructed . They used a regular hoghead on the helpers, "just in case".

The maintainer went over to Hilt and started a generator to keep the signal going. Well, the gen set died before the train ever reached Bailey.
