Let's try the "KISS" method.

Trailer in photo below is on a 5 segment articulated spine car. Light weight of car is 175,100. Divided among 5 trailers that's over 35,000 lbs a trailer of dead weight compared to what a tractor would be pulling. No biggie as a steel wheel is more fuel efficient, right?

Try to get any of the truckers you know to even haul around a stack of hardwood pallets for free. Likely they will tell you were to stick it.
