V&T is Running

This past Saturday, the Virginia and Truckee began running again. They won't be running the trains to Eastgate this year, but they still have the Gold Hill trains.

Over the weekend, Chris Rizzoli was up there testing whistles again, and posted a few videos. And those videos revealed something surprising: the tunnel car (Car 54) is running. They haven't used it for revenue-carrying passenger services since the mid-1990s. My best guess is that they're using it for social distancing.
