I live far away, have no personal stake in what happens in the area, and just try to follow the news posted on here as an interested railfan. I pretty much gave up trying to understand the Santa Cruz situation because it is so complex, political, and chaotic thanks to tricksters who just want to create chaos and sow seeds of doubt about the rail interests.

Anyway, if the shortline freight business ends, is there any chance the Roaring Camp railroad can extend its operation over the line, say to Aptos? Or do they have no interest in doing so?

Seems to me it is a tremendously scenic and beautiful piece of railroad, and a great place for a train ride in an open air car on a warm day, where one could enjoy the scenery, and perhaps sip on a locally made fruit drink or beer. Then again, the detractors are just looking for any defect to kill any such an operation. Saw that with the Iowa Pacific excursion.
