Hard to imagine, I know, but it was taken to San Jose in a slow-speed move.
On Saturday morning, on the RIP adjacent to Lenzen Ave roundhouse, the bad end was jacked up. The truck was dragged out from under the tender with the RIP track forklift. An attempt was made to lift one end of the Buckeye truck with the forklift to free the axle and boxes, but the back end of the forklift came up instead, so the Kline was brought over and made the lift.
The wheelset was swapped out, and everything put back together.
I'd say the SP was pretty accomodating back then. I believe the move from Mountain View was a special move by a switch engine, and the RIP crew did the job on a weekend.
