While driving through the Glendale Ave area of Sparks yesterday I noticed the BNSF logistics warehouse is now “JZR Cross dock”. This facility was why BNSF had a local based in Sparks-to bring in paper for RR Donnelly via box car and swing it to trucks for final delivery. A check of the backside of the warehouse where the cars and locomotives were staged was void of anything. There was grass growing between the rails and the elaborate video/ light system BNSF ( to stop air horn theft) put on the upper corner of the building was gone. Did BNSF abolish the Sparks local? I see the trackage right train periodically so that is still running Denver to Richmond.
