For perhaps a more relevant comparison, here are approximate speeds (based on outbound timetables
and distances from Google Maps as close as I could approximate the actual rail routes):

Gold Line - Union Station to Memorial Park - 27 MPH (omitting freeway median)
Red Line - Union Station to Hollywood/Highland - 28 MPH (omitting tunnel to Valley)
Blue Line - 7th/Flower to Willow - 30 MPH (omitting Long Beach street section)
Blue Line - 7th/Flower to 103rd - 26 MPH (omitting southern section with fewer stations)
Expo Line - 7th/Flower to 4th/Colorado via ROW & Colorado - 25 MPH (my best case) - 22 MPH (worst case
Green Line - I omitted it because of its uniqueness of being mostly in freeway median and long station spacing,
the same reason for omitting below the 210 freeway part of the Gold Line and Valley tunnel on the Red Line.
