Bring your own locomotive horn or steam whistle for show and tell and an opportunity for everyone to blow their horns. Contact Chris Boza, event organizer 509-389-8209 if you have a horn you want to blow. Saturday 9/19/20 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (longer if lots of horns show up) rain or shine. Museum phone: 509-796-3377 for more info, call Mr. Boza if you have a horn to bring.
Thanks, Throttle Hogg.
Mafarnz's comment wishing for an earlier notice of the event -- [
www.altamontpress.com] -- made me wonder how early it might have been announced on the museum's site. I was disappointed that all I found was the date info and nothing else useful.
There also seems to be some name confusion in Throttle Hogg's post. Gsearching for [Inland Empire Railroad Museum] [
www.google.com], the first hit was for "Southern California Railway Museum" and the second was for "Inland NW Rail Museum", neither being an exact match to what I was looking for. It turns out that the second one [
inlandnwrailmuseum.com] was the one I wanted, and provides a clue to the possible name confusion. The
Inland Northwest Rail Museum in Reardan, Wash is operated by the
Inland Empire Railway Historical Society, a chapter of the National Railway Historical Society.
The museum got some mention on AP when it opened in 2016 [
www.altamontpress.com]. but seems to have disappeared from AP from then until now.
