Former Pittsburgh Railways Company PCC No. 1711 heads to the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum ’s visitors center after turning on the loop at the end of the line on December 21, 2008. Car No. 1711 was built by the St. Louis Car Company in 1949 as part of a 100 car order, and originally ran on the Washington-Pittsburgh line of the Pittsburgh Railways Co. It made its last run in 1953 when Pittsburgh Railways Co. shut down, and was acquired by PAT and used on their lines in Pittsburgh . In 1988 the museum acquired this PCC, and restored it in 1990. The PA Trolley Museum operates over a two mile segment of the Washington-Pittsburgh line of the Pittsburgh Railways Co. north of Washington , PA.
