The double-ended cars in San Francisco, 1007, 1010, and 1015 are all MUNI cars painted in the colors of other operations. One is the Illinois Terminal (1015), one in MUNI 1930's (1010) colors, and the other (1007) is Red Arrow. The real IT and Red Arrow double enders both had couplers for M/U operation, something the MUNI never had.

Cars 1006 to 1015 were delivered to the MUNI in 1948. They were single-ended in the late 50's or early 60's. The operational cars were restored to double-enders. Car 1008 is a work car outfitted with a pantograph and the only PCC to ever operate in the new Metro tunnel. Cars 1006, 1009, and 1011 remain on the property for future restoration. Locally, they were called "torpedos" or the "big tens".
