1) Traction motor blowers are intended to supply cooling air to the traction motors.

2) The EMD SC/SW/SW1 did not require TM blowers, since the main generator did NOT have the capability of "overheating" the traction motors, i.e. the current rating of the motors could not be exceeded by the main generator.
