I don't live in your state, but the whole HSR thing makes no sense to me (average Joe).

I searched flights for this weekend, SFO to LAX, roundtrip. Depart Saturday, return Sunday.

Price: $97
Flight time: 1H 30M

That's good. Fast and not expensive.

Seems like HSR never should gotten past the proposal stage. Someone in your state government is on drugs!
