Re: North from Norristown

I was born in Norristown and grew up in Collegeville, just west of there, and remember being able to spot sections of the old Lehigh Valley Transit right-of-way north of Norristown. If you know where to look, you can still find them even today.

Where I currently live in Gresham, Oregon, my house is just across the street from an old interurban ROW, the Troutdale branch of the Portland Traction Co. I can look out my living room window and see the TriMet Ruby Junction light rail shop complex, which takes up a portion of the old ROW.

Portions of the ROW are still walkable, and the City of Gresham is in the process of developing it into a multi-use trail.
