Follow the North Platte Telegraph (online newspaper) for both current and archived stories includind artist conceptions and maps. The site is located on the farm property just south of the Superintendants' building. Two weeks ago they announced demolition would start on the farm buildings. The guy who owned the property also owns the little grocery store on Front St across from the East departure. Local merchants are not thrilled about a new tax to help this project but will soon realize the potential just like Rochelle. There really are people out there who don't understand how many railfans will be attracted to this.
Personal comment: I just hope that the tower will be run more fiscally sound than the Platte Valley Arch on I-80 at Kearney.
