As I understand it Caltrans has stated the crossing is a safety hazard because of Two motorcycle accidents in recent months. With the consent of the NCRA, the rails and ties were removed and the crossing paved over by Caltrains. District One has pledged to restore the crossing at their expense with new concrete panels.
