On the state level, Pennsylvania (Strasburg),North Carolina (Spencer), Alaska (Wasilla), Utah (Ogden), Texas (Texas State RR, more of a tourist line), come to mind. Railtown 1897 at Jamestown, CA is part of the California State Railroad Museum. Then there's the Minnesota Transportation Museum (various locations around the Twin Cities). Is the Lake Superior Museum of Transportation in Duluth, MN state owned? On the local government level, the St. Louis Museum of Transport is owned by the county. What are some others?
