Again, the passages I listed mentioned Winter Snow & Ice Conditions as being a major reason for the electro - pneumatic brake system's problems. Not much of that type weather on the Peninsula Commutes, and even Donner Pass rarely received the sustained COLD WEATHER that the NCL did, with MINUS 20 to 30 degrees sustained temperatures across Southern Montana & The Dakotas in wintertime.
