The Troubadour is located at 9081 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood CA. Santa Monica Blvd. here is Historic Route 66.

The Los Angeles & Independence Railroad ran this route to the Santa Monica Pier, ca.1877. Later, the Southern Pacific served this line.

I vaguely recall a discussion, I believe on AP a while back, about a rail yard in West Los Angeles off Santa Monica Blvd. near Beverly Hills that was used in some old movies. My search skills on this site were not sufficient to find the thread, however.
