Worth mentioning that U.S.P.S. is likely giving ELECTION BALLOTS priority over all else for the next two weeks at least.
Magazines and other Periodicals are usually mailed as Fourth Class, unless the recipient pays extra for First Class. 4th Class used to be handled the same as 1st Class; nowadays with my local letter carrier's Jeep full of AMAZON packages, getting ANY mail at all is problematic. I've gone 2 days w/o any incoming, then have the box stuffed full.
I live in urban Puget Sound, but at the very end of a West Auburn, WA., postal route. A friend who is a career Postal Letter Carrier ( in Renton ) looked into my deal, and he told me that. due to personnel cutbacks & shortages, my route often is held until the afternoon, then split up and sent out with 2 letter carriers who may or may not know the route. Terrific...
I just sent a birthday Priority Mail box to the granddaughter, stationed at Fairchild A.F.B. in Spokane. The clerk quoted me a FRIDAY delivery estimate, for a 300 mile haul that I'm sure will be trucked. Oh well, at least it was cheap -- only Ten Bucks!
