The program host is giving the produce what he wants. The producer is giving the History Channel what it wants. The same potential danger message is included in most of the History Channel programs to try to keep viewers from tuning out during commercial breaks. Other channels that feature documentaries do the same thing.
If the host doesn't give the producer what he wants, very soon the host will be looking for another job. Many time the on camera persona is nothing like the real person. After all, it's just an acting job.
Been there, done that. Once I got up to take 32 on a thirty second spot because the producer didn't know what he wanted and kept changing the copy. The final take wound up very similar to Take #1.
