Time was growing short for excursions on the Sierra Railroad. The owners had announced that excursions would end on December 31st, 1979 but that still seemed far away when, in October, a double header ran from Jamestown to Warnerville using 4-4-0 #8 and 4-6-0 #3. The #8 actually belonged to Shortline Enterprises and would later be sold to the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City where it remains today. I think this was a PLA charter but I am not sure.
Seen emerging Westbound from Woods Creek Canyon.
