I support the NCRA's goals. I don't condone them constantly
violating laws like the Brown Act.
The Brown Act is about transparency. What's wrong
with the NCRA being transparent? Why can't they get their procedural
act together and follow some simple rules like providing
full agendas?
Those of us who support the NCRA should insist that they
follow the law. I think they do us a disservice when they think
the goals of starting up rail trump the goals that public
processes occur in the light of public review.
We all need to realize that their screw-ups have been a significant
contributor to delaying freight implementation.
Seems to me that they are getting bad legal advice from their
legal counsel. Maybe it's time to find a replacement.
