The new locomotive was going to be partly paid for with a clean air grant. It was only going to pay for less than half from what I was told. Knoxville was chosen, but I'm not sure if the contract was ever finalized before the panicdemic started. With the railroad shut down and the parent company being in the hotel business, I would be surprised to see this locomotive built.
All of the Sierra equipment was returned including the GP20. One open air car was bought and retained.
There is one GE 80 tonner and one 65 tonner. The 80 tonner is an ex US govt. unit that was rebuilt and modernized with 26 air and a more modern control stand.
I've been watching the website and have seen that reservations have now been pushed back to February. At this point I'm just hoping it survives.
