The garbage train has been studied and is not cost effective. The Mecham dump site is supposed to last until 2032. What information do you have that it is running out of room? The garbage out of Napa is trucked nearby to the Oat rd. dump in Vacaville. It used to be rail hauled to eastern Washington State 630 miles away. That's was a 1260 mile round trip. Garbage could be rail hauled out of Willits or Ukiah including Fort Bragg if the line was ever reopened and it penciled out. The massive Oat rd. Vacaville dumpsite is a short distance from the Western railway museum's interchange track with UP at Cannon.
