After running on the Wisconsin Central for a few years, the ex-Soo Line 2719 (a 4-6-2) went to
the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. The 2719 was used for excursions on the North Shore Scenic Railroad from 2007 until 2013 when it came due for its mandatory federal inspection and overhaul. Subsequently, the museum purchased the 2719 from the City of Eau Claire, WI and it is on display at the museum.
Duluth & Northeastern #28 is currently the locomotive used for steam-powered excursions on the North Shore Scenic Railroad (from Duluth to Two Harbors, MN). Don't know if the 2719 will go through another overhaul to return to operation.
